Publication Party Celebrating the Publication of Lake Superior Writers' Members — Sun. Dec. 3, 2006, 2 pm - 5 pm,
It's a publication party! Lake Superior Writers’ members who have recently published a book will read from their works, and all members of LSW who have published books are invited to sign and display their publications in the Lake Superior Writers Meeting Room, 1301 Rice Lake Rd, Duluth. Reading and Signing books: Donna Schilling, Bruce Henricksen, Donald Dass, Connie Wanek, Mara Hart, Sharon Chmielarz, Deborah Cooper, and Bart Sutter. Books and Book Signing: Tracy Maurer, Marlene Wisuri, Ellen Sandbeck, Cele Lieder, Sarah Chapman, Shirley Wuchter and Holy Cow Press. Books will be available for purchase. The event is free, open to the public, and refreshments will be served. UMD Library Hosts “Minnesota Crime Wave” Nov. 16 at 4 p.m. A dangerous trio of mystery writers known as "The Minnesota Crime Wave" will make an appearance at the UMD Library on Thursday, Nov. 16, from 4-5:30 p.m., in the 4th floor Rotunda reading room. If you love mysteries, this event will give you a front-row encounter with the genre and with several award-winning perpetrators, including William Kent Krueger, Ellen Hart, and Carl Brookins. The Minnesota Crime Wave takes the art of author book-signings to a new level of entertainment with its lively presentation. Join us for this free event at the UMD Library. Poets, fiction writers, and creative nonfiction writers can submit no more than 10 pages of poetry or 15 pages of fiction or creative nonfiction, a resumé, and a project description by November 30.
