This month's features cover the growth of homegrown cinema with filmmaker profiles and a look into the business of making movies in MN. PLUS: reviews of new exhibitions and performance and the summer MNfashion FLASH winners

Minnesota filmmakers and web video innovators have come into their own in recent years, earning national and international recognition for their work on both the large and small screens. Home to traditionally minded filmmakers like Ali Selim (Sweet Land) as well as indie documentarians like Joanna Kohler (Boxers) and DIY internet video innovators like Chuck Olsen (The Uptake, Minnesota Stories)--Minnesota's busting at the seams with homegrown cinematic talent.

Fresh off the heels of the Mpls/St. Paul International Film Festival, and just in time for the Walker's Queer Takes: Visibly Out series, the Solstice Film Festival in St. Paul, and the Free Range Film Festival, this month's featured articles will highlight a sampling of Minnesota artists working in film.
