Michon Weeks was born and raised in Washburn, Iowa, and currently lives and works in Marshall, MN. Weeks earned a BA in Art from Iowa State University in 1984 and an MFA in Painting and Drawing from the University of Minnesota in 1990. Weeks was awarded a 2009 Southwest Minnesota Arts and Humanities Council Career Grant, among other awards. Her work has appeared in recent group exhibitions at the Plains Art Museum, Fargo, ND; the Minnesota Museum of American Art, St. Paul; and the Rochester Art Center, Rochester, MN. Upcoming solo exhibitions of her work will be held at the Phipps Center for the Arts, Hudson, WI and 801 Gallery, Minneapolis.
