Some Assembly Required is a weekly focus on sample based music and audio art. Host Jon Nelson explores the world of sound collage via this weekly podcast of his nationally syndicated radio program.
Episode 250, Some Assembly Required
Episode 250 features work by Akufen, Alien Army, B'O'K, Big City Orchestra, The Bran Flakes, DJ Cal, Divide and Kreate, Double Dee & Steinski, Go Home Productions, DJ Marvel, Negativland, Totom and Wobbly. Check it out HERE.
I marked the occasion of the 250th episode by playing some very favorite tracks by a small number of my very favorite artists, so it’s very difficult to pick a standout this time out… If pressed, I would probably point out that the mashup by Totom has always been a favorite, and Buttress (B’O’K) O’Kneel’s “Breaking Windows” is remarkably catchy, considering what it’s made out of! Who would have guessed computer noises could make such great music… Check out Episode 250 HERE.
Be sure to check out the SAR Blog for Q&A’s with over 150 of the artists we play weekly on Some Assembly Required, and download Episode 250 HERE.
Thanks for listening,
