The “Theatre of Fools” was founded by the husband and wife comedy team of Lloyd Brant and Rosie Cole. They met while studying mime and soon joined forces to create an absurd physical comedy show called “Serious Nonsense”. While attending an International Clown Festival, Rosie and Lloyd were inspired by Patch Adams, doctor and founder of the Gesundheit Institute, whose philosophy promotes healing through laughter. Rosie and Lloyd then created a new clown work called “The Wacky Chicken Show” which uses the metaphor of the chicken and egg as universal symbols of the cycle of life. They also take their show on the road, touring festivals across the country in a trailer with their two children and pet chickens.
Theatre of Fools presents excerpts from their full even production of
The Wacky Chicken Show that they created after receiving a grant
from the Minnesota State Arts Board and The National Endowment for
the Arts.
