Artist Statement:
Painting is my way of revealing the different vibrations felt after making a life choice. I am particularly intrigued with the concepts of fate and destiny and the structural tension that is inherent in each of these words.
This subject has led me to investigate various patterns of birds. I find myself obsessed with their ability to exist on another plane, as well as, their innate desire to migrate.
I work with acrylics and water soluble crayons. I enjoy the process of layering texture with color on masonite board. The backgrounds in my paintings reflect the memories associated with the past, while the birds maintain concrete evidence of the present.
