Grand Forks held the 2005 Grand Cities Art Fest and I was the featured artist and my demo work given to benefactors as a giclee the next year.

Besides art showcasing, cards, prints and giclees can be printed there from my art. My home studio and galleries are also available to purchase original artwork.
I am part of a new women's art group called 10 Brushes. We are working together on art design challenges and will display art at galleries. First exhibit was at the Great River Art Association, Little Falls,MN 9-2011. Next exhibit will be at the FrameWorks, Highland Park, MN April -2012.

THE STILL LIFE IN MOTION - attended a 5 day 2010 Fall NSW workshop - A Non Traditional Approach with Watercolor and Gouache, Kate Worm, Instructor.

My 2011 Individual Artist Grant has been approved - and was used Spring 2011 for a Sterling Edwards watercolor workshop. "This project was made possible by a grant provided by the Five Wings Arts Council with funds from the McKnight Foundation."

I love to use vibrant colors and dramatic value contrasts to explore the boundary between realism and abstraction.
I have been enjoying watercolor painting for the past 16 years and discovered watercolor while pursuing the skills for a retirement hobby.
I love the spontaneity of the medium, the diverse styles it can produce, and the wonderful colors!

I take Annual professional workshops from nationally and regionally known artists:
Karen Frey, Christopher Schink, Zolton Szobo, Raleigh Kenney, Frank Francese, Rose Edin, Cheng Khee Chee, Edie Ebnet, Doug Lew, Arne Westerman, Andy Evansen, Dan Wiemer, Judy Blain, Donna Zogatta, Tom Fransesconi, Janet Rodgers, Kate Worm, Sterling Edwards, Karen Knutson,and many others.
Demonstrations: from great art organization artists add seasoning to my art training too.

I was a Team-Workshop Watercolor Instructor, "Montana Art Experience". At the Rising Wolf Ranch, East Glacier, Montana in 2004. What fun!
I am a Signature Member of the Red River Watercolor Society, a member of many art organizations and past board member of organizations.

I participate in many art shows, exhibitions, and public displays throughout the state each year.

Purchase Award - March 2007 from the Waage Art Center, Minnesota State Community and Technical College, Fergus Falls campus for "Reading Time", a 28" x 36" framed figurative painting, to become part of the college's permanent artcollection.


Minnesota State Fair Entry 5 times out of 8 tries-
2007 MN State Fair Juried Fine Arts Competition- "Park Trails" - Received 3rd Place in Watercolor and several Merit awards over the years.
Many Awards of Excellence and 1st, 2nd, 3rd over the years.


Individual Artist Grant -Five Wings Arts Council with funds from the McKnight Foundation - have received 6 grants over time for worthy requests and education.


"Afternoon Paws" received the $150 Mathison's/Grumbacker Merit award in the Red River Watercolor Society National Juried Show 2001 and the Minnesota State Fair Merit award
Received the John and Pat Hasslen Award for "Best Watercolor" in Arts in Harmony 2001 Nationally Juried Show for "In Her Glory".


"Dusk - Little Falls Depot" - gained entry into the Red River Watercolor Society 13th Annual National Juried Watermedia Exhibition held at Hjemkomst Center, Moorhead, MN May 1 - June 20, 2006. With this acceptance, Kathy Braud's RRWS Signature Membership was achieved in 2006 - as she had 3 juried entries in the RRWS National Shows in a 10 year span. Her entry also received the RRWS 2006 Golden Paint, Inc. Merchandise Award.
