Donald Rowley was senior store designer with the Dayton Hudson department store company from 1970 - 1984.
In 1984 he started his own design and illustration company, Illustrations Plus, Inc., soleowner and employee. Illustrations Plus, Inc. has created art for: 7-UP, Acura, Chevron, Robinson Capital Management,Volkswagen, Qwest Communications, Kitchen Aid, Audio King, Honeywell, Medtronic, 3-M, Hedstrom/ Blessing, Source Engineering, Land-O-Lakes, Innocast Corporation, and others.
Our principal work is creating presentation art for clients of products and conceptual designs. The media that we use for our services is: Pencil sketches, full color digital renderings, acrylic painting, egg-tempera, Photoshop, AutoCAD, and 3d Viz,
In 2010 we added fine art paintings to our business. Burnished metal painting is a new addition to our portfolio. Using a metal canvas is very unique and professionally
challenging. Careful pre-planning and precision detailing is necessary to bring out the subtle reflections that will enhance the beauty of the art by the way the reflectivity of light plays in the process. What the finished piece will look like depends largely on the grinding and polishing techniques that are
employed to bring out the unique light reflections of the metal canvas. This type of painting style is really "Theater" at its best.
