I grew up in West Allis, Wisconsin and now reside in New Hope, Minnesota. I am a self taught artist, who has spent a life time in awe at life's little miracles. I have experimented with many modalities in art including stained glass, pencil drawing, aerosol painting,spray brush painting,clay art,and only within the past few years acrylic painting.
I come from a family of very talented artists who now reside in Wisconsin and Kansas. Their abilities are awesome. In the back of my mind, I have always desired to one day have an art showing at a real gallery. There would be nothing better than to know my artwork has inspired someone or sparked a happy memory of something. That is why my work tends to be more on the personal side. I like to paint images of things that have a clear memory for me and likewise will for many others.
My personal experience painting include real places and experiences. But they might also include paintings of feelings, or ponderings of the mind. These type of paintings also evoke feelings in others, which is the intention of my work.
In my work, I have been inspired by the beauty of paintings hanging on walls I have noticed the peace certain painting give to residents in long term care facilities and to patients in hospitals. I have also notice how certain works of art have inspire family members to observe detail in things around them.
I especially enjoy painting images that tell a story, illicit a thought or bring to the surface an emotion. Even though I am not a formally trained artist, I hope my work can provide enjoyment to as many people as possible.
