My history is one that is steeped in both craft and design. I come from a family of builders and problem solvers. I started working in my father’s custom cabinet shop when I was thirteen. That’s where my education in woodworking began, and where I also started to become interested in design.

For over twenty years now, I’ve remained committed to becoming a true craftsman and innovative designer. I’ve honed my skills as a custom builder in fine woodworking shops, attained a BA in Studio Arts from the University of Minnesota and an MFA focusing on furniture design from the Minneapolis College of Art and Design, all the while, continuing to design and create one of a kind pieces that are hybrids of function and art.

Because I don’t limit myself to one material, or one style, my work is often considered eclecticor postmodern. While that could be considered true in many ways, there are underlying principles that run throughout my work. Beauty, purpose, fun, originality, and sustainability. These are the qualities that I strive for at all times. I feel privileged to be able to do something I love, and even more so to be able to share that with others.
