It is the means to be able to make a living off of your "creativity". The medium is ideal for "budget" minded patronage. They get what they pay for: a well framed "print".
As a framer you have a great advantage over the rest of us; you have framing at "wholesale".
Is it "Art" with a captial "A"?
Time will tell, just as with "hot" Artists the fad may wear off.
As a Chicano Painter I purposely paint in such a manner that the "camera" can not replicate nor enhance what my "hand" has done. The "original" is of great importance to me. I oft times feel like Van Gogh, absurdly applying far too much paint than the Guagians of the world. But then again I do think Vincient the better painter.
For every Artist out there; do what you need to do to make the work that needs to done.
