Hey hi Kathleen Kvern! I was wondering when you might drop in. It's good to hear from you.

I have a bit of good word about how mnartists.org has been an assist.
Most recently, I was contacted by a curator from the Minneapolis Foundation. She had seen some of my photographs in the online gallery and contacted me through email requesting works for an exhibition called "Urban Landscapes". I would not have known of the show otherwise. And it's a perfect collaboration as I am very interested in urban landscapes (city planning and such). I am also interested in the work the Minneapolis Foundation does.
It's good to know that curators can use the site to hand pick works which complement their exhibitions.

As for the new design, I can't tear myself away from the Charcoal color theam. It makes snapshot review look amazing. I might have to cull out some old paintings and go with mostly photos.

anyway, glad to say, Wellcome to the forums....maybe.. i hope//

Hello to all of you, old and new friends. Great to see the new tattoos on the front page! Now where are the mehndi artists--I think the time is right for Pop mehndi . . . I did a terrible job at my daughter's slumber party a couple of months ago, and I need some pro ideas.

Hi Ray,
Thanks for the welcome and the great story of how mnartists.org is working for you. I'm looking forward to joining the forum conversations and really excited about our monthly feature forums! Colin is doing a fantastic job pulling those together. I think we'll give a preview of what's to come sometime soon, either via email to members or on the home page.

hello everyone...I have been practicing a an artist for 44 years. Numerous circumstances throughout my life have never let me sit long enough to say, " My golly... I gotta do something with my arts!!!". Oh yes, I took some actions, but pretty much flips and flops. Then it fizzled. Then it stayed down.

Until I move in the house of an elderly, hired me as caretaker. Some months later, out of my boredom being out of college during the holiday vacation, I did the life-like and life-size of a bust, of this lady an elderly. She is legally blind, but just enough to exclaimed,' Ellie.. you gotta do something with this!!!". " You can't let it sit there and do nothing!". I whined and made some excuse, told her I just didn't want to be a struggling artist anymore.

But she is not letting me off the hook. And Im gald she didn't.

Here's the thing. I am not sure what the policy are for posting the website addresses in here. But I do have website showing my sculpture. The problem is I have not done any major casting since in high school ( over two decades ago!). And I do need some help casting it.

Now where do I put this website in MNartist.org?

Ellie

Heya Ellie

I don't make the rules around here, but I'll venture to guess this is a fine place for such an introduction. I'd like to see! Whats the link?

hello again! I decided to take time and browse through this wonderful website. Trying to jump start a little flame within me into roaring fire with passion toward my arts. What confuse me here, however, how do I search for the latest replies? There seem to be a wide assortment of dates with no order starting from the latest. How do I go about it?

Welcome, Ellie.

When you visit, make sure you're logged into the forums (check the upper right of the page to see your status) and the site will automatically highlight new posts since your last visit with a red dot. Conversations bounce around a lot so feel free to post anywhere, even if a certain thread has been dormant for a while. You may be just the spark to get it going again.

As for posting links, feel free! It's good to share around here. As long as you don't spam the site with offers for a wonderful new drug that will allow any artist to sculpt like Michelangelo, there really are no limits.

And on your mnartist.org portfolio page, you can list an external URL as a homepage for people to click on as well. It will be listed under the Information tab of your page.

Welcome again.

I'm Margaret. I do both collage and altered books. I would love to get together with others who could spend time working together, critiquing work, or just talking about it. Whatever. I live in St. Paul near the Cathedral and can't drive long distances, especially at night.

Thanks, Margaret

Glad you're getting the hang of it, Ellie. The red dots will remain until you actually view each post. If you want to get rid of them and only track new posts since the day before, you'll find a buttom for Mark All Topics As Read at the top of each individual forum. Clicking on that will reset it.

Welcome, Margaret.

And Hey Lauren. I'm still here, practicing my spinning plate routine. Gotta keep 'em all up in the air and moving you know.
