that, i don't even remember writing. i think i'll hit on the same point later more thoroughly though. its contribution and response thats lacking, a state full of artists and no one has much to say, even though a real name is'nt required. yet, the lurker number is always there fluctuating. well, whatever. back to the blog thing...

It's a great read.
I've had to stop latly myself. I have not had much computer access. The damn gift certificate drive went NOWHERE. Not a single holiday greeting. Not even one.

So tonight and the last few, i'm in this total dump shithole slum trying to clean the previous dwellers leftovers. Mouse crap, junky broken JUNK. garbage piles, carpet that should be burned. The whole house should be torn down. There is an actual topographical difference between the living room and the kitchen which can be mesured from space. Discusting hazardous crack house. A church owns it. They said I could live there, if I worked for them an amount of time equal to the rent. Then they had me sign a lease for $700. I don't know about this deal. I don't have any money and now my name is on line for some utillities. Welcome to the world I suppose. I better fuckin buck up and GET PAID allready!
CAA? I never know.
So I'm throwing away trash and rat shit and the girl shows up saying "theres nuthing wrong with this" pulling a filthy glass out of the garbage bag. So now I can't even work on cleaning it because... well.. I would hate for that to happen to me. Someone throwing away scraps of property and such. The church made it sound like she was never coming back.. I signed the lease and the place is not fit for human habitation.

The only good part about all this is that I get to help Minneapolis realize a major art action. We're building a Hip-Hop/Rap studio on the northside. YES! Penn/Glenwood area. I even had the thought a few months ago that a free Rap studio would be amazing for kids over there. So I'm going to see what I can do to help on the ArtOrg/NPO front. Church + Arts, I should be able to find some kind of funding for them somewhere.

Yadda.

I peaked at "Orbital Me" after a meeting at Open Book today. I was wrong about the opening date. It's the 7th, Saturday.

Happy New Year! Good to be back. Ray, what's the deal on the house? You should round up a posse to help you out-that sounds disgusting! Where are you living, as in neighborhood?

I'm working on getting my house in order too. Free lance jobs for now and getting my studio organized, house cleaned and organized. I let it go just enough that it's out of control so I need to hunker down - a good new year resolution.

Nice to see everyone again.

That blog site is cool Gabe. I've been looking for a space to post and meet new people who are more connected to the arts. I joined MySpace with a couple of friends but I haven't connected with many people that are into the arts, etc. Anyone have suggestions for other blog sites where I might find more people into the arts? Thanks.

It would be good to have a list of art blogs.

MPLSART.COM is ok for an art opening - photo blog type thing.

Hey Your back!
Hope your Holidays went well.
The neighboorhood is Harrison on the edge of Bryn Mawr. I'm trying to figure out if there are some NRP funds for these people. But I'm of a scattered mind in 2006.

I heard F. Scott Fitzgerald only made 13 dollars in his last year of life. As Gatsby reached out over the waters, the blue lights on the Guthrie are my my green "Daisy".

Thanks Ray-I'll check it out. I used to live near there. I'll bet there is money available. Sounds like quite an undertaking. My house wasn't as bad as that when I moved in, but it was bad enough. Hey, the house next door was purchased. They've been gutting the place for the last 3 months. It was trashed.

Holidays were fine. Hope yours was good.

Ray, you may also want to check out MHFA for funding. I was able to get money through the City of Minneapolis, but I don't think they are offering the program anymore. I believe the group is now Community Reinvestment Agency or something like that-they may offer funding also.

Get you side of the deal in writing; even if it just you writing notes to the "representative" of the church.

A church owns it. They said I could live
> there, if I worked for them an amount of time equal

Nail this down in "hours" and "tasks". Really do this!!!

Then they had me sign a lease for $700.

This is the "red flag", just becasue they are christian does not mean they will be "christian" with you. Go to the Pastor with what the "deal" is. Do not accpet the "generosity of people who are not upfront".

Take digital pictures; put them up here.

Lesson one in community work; nothing is free.

The "founders" usually get paid and the Rays of the world get used.

This is what you must stop now in your life Ray. No good deal goes unpunished; and ou should be so way done with the punishment.

So I'm going to see what I can

It is time for you to confront the Soap; they need to help you get funded. It would be the Christian thing to do. Think about it.
