Hi Everyone,

It looks like the server went down for a moment there. We are back up and should be ready to go for the last 15 minutes. Thanks for your patience. I apologize for the trouble.

Creative Connections normally receives around 100 applications per quarter. And the upcoming deadline is definitely one of our busiest for events scheduled April-May. CC is administered quarterly with deadlines spaced through out the year based on when a performance is scheduled to take place.

I sent the URL for Meet the Composer to dodp yume. Maybe they will have friends in New York that would be interested and qualify too.

That's a sizable number. Approximately, how many of those 100 proposals will you fund?

Meet The Composer definitely encourages any MN based organization and composer with an eligible project to take advantage of this next deadline. You will see that the application remains very straight forward and quite simple. And again this next deadline covers projects scheduled April-June 2005.

There might be opportunities for composers in a variety of settings in communities. I attended a performace of Paul McCartney's program "A Garland for Linda," new compositions by contemporary composers at a beautiful synagogue in Minnetonka, Minnesota. If presenters and composers have material, and if they can get funded from a program like Creative Connections, I think communities would appreciate the entertainment new composers can provide.

Thanks Mark for taking the time to be here tonight. It's 8pm Central Time. So, we are going to close the forum. Please contact Mark directly with further questions about your proposals. And, of course, good luck with all of your projects.

Again I want to stress that Creative Connections (formerly Meet The Composer Fund) aspires to strengthen connections between living composers, performing musicians, presenters, communities and audiences by providing support for composers to actively engage in performances of their music.

The new expanded levels of support are intended to enable composers to undertake more substantial projects, and to build stronger and longer-term relationships with presenters. However, support will still be available to composers to participate in a single performance of their music. Awards now range from $250 - $5,000.

Refer to the current guidelines located on the Meet The Composer website for complete application requirements. http://www.meetthecomposer.org/programs/creativeconnections.html

And please feel free to contact me directly with any other questions.

Wow, this is great. I'm happy that it's quarterly. Perhaps I can make it in for the next deadline.
Greg, I want to play avant garde music with Sean Lennon! Terrific!

Currently I only record. I do not perform. It would have been fun to get some of the "Every other Tuesday" stuff at Arcadia Cafe funded. But hey, maybe next time...

Unless theres an electronic app I can do right this second

I was so confused anyway. I thought this was connected to the American Composers Forum.
