Are you familiar with Juxtaposition Arts? They're a group that work with kids on amazing projects - collaborations that change young lives and heal communities. They're local, over on West Broadway. Check them out http://www.juxtaposition.org ....

Jill pretty much named it. Those guys have done a lot of good with bringing big-name writers in from all over the world. I used to be involved with the mural thing, but I always ended up losing $ while having someone tell me what to paint, so it got tiring. I am still on a couple of murals in dt mpls.

Yeah, I have a hard time feeling too sorry for them since sexist ads often contradict the message such companies put forth elsewhere. (equal opp.)

Gabe, did you happen to check out the New Acquisitions gallery at the MAI? Just inside to the right there was a painting by a Minneapolis artist named Chris Mars entitles (paraphrase): Funeral Procession for the Minimal Man. Beautiful surface treatment contrasted with a rather grotesque, exagerated style. Very beautiful I thought. I also thought I saw hints of Graffiti in his work, and the label mentioned he is a self-taught artist which many graf artists seem to be? Did you happen to see it? What do you think?

It is so nice to be from Minneapolis and know the history and present work of amazing guys like Mr. Mars. I agree he rocks highly.
And so Does Gabriel Combs. I throw it back to you Gabe. No I don't have a digital cam. I wished I did! I have been wanting to take quick picz for posting forever. I had a high8 camcorder for a few days there, but the eject mech broke and it's not digital anyway so I would need to find a "snappy" type adapter to post anything.
In other news, I went and saw your work yesterday @RB Gallery. Nice. I liked it alot. I was thrilled to see the Potato Drawing! And the reference to M.A.S. And I liked the incorparation of fortunes in that one piece. The whole show was just very exciting. I was glad to see all Charlies pieces were so afordable. He has sold quite a few. I was disapointed to notice that I missed a good show involving Colon Pipe Crew and Meatmouth there on saturday while I was gone.

I'll work on getting that Camera. I also missed the state fair grounds computer sale this last weekend. I bet I coulda scored there for less then $100. well soon.....

Thanks, Ray. Yeah, I am sure you could find a cheap digital. It would be interesting to just post fotos of what one found inspiring today or even the last week, be it graf or what ever Minnesota Mediocre thing you come across that is interesting...

MM Haha yeah. I would love to run around taking mediocre pix. Sooon! But i would rather take the inspiring ones just like everyone else.
Theres two things i'm not going to be able to live down right now. One is MM, the other is this girl who called me the "Nordic Jesus" Sh*t I can't escape that one. My budies will bring it up every now and then for a lark.

I have a feeling that if I can procure a cam, I will be entering the realms of action squad style.

Hey Dr. Somneblex - nice work on the front page! Poser is right!

Thanks again to Jill and Gabriel for the Juxtaposition link - I checked it out and it looks like there's really cool stuff going on over there.

ATTENTION ALL GRAFF WRITERS!

PLEASE DO NOT TAG OR SPRAY THE SOAP FACTORY ANYMORE!!!
The city fines you if you don't remove that sh*t right away and THE SOAP CAN'T AFFORD IT!
We suggest that you go tag the walkers bathrooms or something more constructive. (no don't do that either!)
