It has been a pleasure to serve as a moderator for this site the past two years. I followed the forum from the beginning, and began contributing shortly thereafter. Since then, I have read nearly every post ever made here. Tracking the cadences and trajectories of conversations, their lulls and spurts, has enabled me to peek beyond the immediate exchanges to see how they relate in the broader, virtual community. The primary lesson I've learned is that community is what the participants make of it. It takes on a life of it's own, beyond the individual voices, expanding and evolving according to its own nature. And though you can't control the beast, you can influence and encourage it by taking part. It's the only way.

I look forward to continuing my participation on the site, though at a reduced level. It has become increasingly difficult for me to give it the attention it requires as my sculptural ambitions and exhibition/travel schedule have taken on a life of their own. In the past year or so I have created the best sculpture of my life... and it's just the beginning.

Colin and Kathleen will be taking up the slack in the meantime. My best wishes for all and the Minnesota artistic community as a whole.

Sam

Wow, first Colin and then you too hey?

I know the best is yet in store for the both of you. Long life and many blessings. I've had a ton of respect for you, your good work and contributions here. I can say I've learned a bunch from you. Thank you for spending time with us all. It's been an excellent run of service and friendship.

I'll have to make a point to get up to one of your openings soon. Take care Sam.
