Audition Notice for 15 HEAD

15 HEAD - A Theatre Lab is Searching for one man and one woman for Vacationland!, a new script written by C. Denby Swanson and directed by Andrea McAvey

Vacationland! is a play about fear and American Culture told from the seemingly safe perspective of Vacationland!, an ultimate, yet affordable, travel destination.

Inspired by Charles L. Mee’s Summer Evening in Des Moines, Vacationland! examines the collective stories of strangers who are bound together under the guise of amusement.

Roles to be Cast Include:

Bill: Male, mid to late 30s. Bill is on vacation with his family. He’s a Ward Cleaver-type prone to adultery and doltish behavior. Movement skills desirable.

Waitress: Female, age to be determined. The Waitress is an empath and an insider who serves bottomless cups of coffee and knows much more than she lets on - or does she? Movement skills are required. Vocal training a plus.

Actors should be prepared to perform one contemporary monologue no more than 2 minutes in length. Auditionees will be asked to move, so please dress appropriately. Scenes from the script will be available on site before auditions for potential readings during the session.

Performances will run Oct 28th- Nov 20th at the Red Eye Theatre in Minneapolis.

Auditions will take place at the 15 HEAD rehearsal site in Minneapolis on Thursday, July 29 and Friday July 30th between 6 and 8:30 PM. Call (612) 377-1200 to schedule an audition appointment. Address and directions will be provided at the time of the call.

All positions are paid.

coyote has proposed a "chicananaso mural" to a community center in mid town Minneapolis; will be seeking skilled painters who would be interested in painting with the coyote; no pay, poor equipment and no fame(coyote does not sign his murals) just a gift to the Chicano Community via the generosity of an enlightened Community center.

ok; things have changed. It might happen "down town", it might yield some fame, and if the portable mural is "sold" then some money.

oh; you would also have to brave a inquisitive public.

Being Chicano would a great help as this will a "Chicano" mural.

Upstage Musical Theatre Workshop is opening its doors to talented young performers ages 4-16. The Workshop’s Musical Theatre Education program consists of 12 weeks of formal instruction in drama, voice, dance and movement culminating in the production of a three act children’s operetta, “The Magic Beanstalk”.

The Workshop will bring together some of the Twin Cities’ finest young teachers, directors and actors to give students a unique chance to learn and perform in a fun and challenging environment. Selected students will have the opportunity to work in small groups and one on one with our teachers and faculty guests. Emphasis will be placed on learning and performance while fostering artistic growth in each and every student.

Open auditions will be held the firt two weeks of January. No previous experience is required.

Hi Molly.

Maybe you 'd like to do me one. I'm a lifelong artist (44years). A deaf member of Deaf community. The Deaf communitya re rarely exposed to art community while growing up due to lack of access. I did have an article from Women Press and it might be something you could check out with. I also could give you some resources to check out about arts and Deaf community. There are some Deaf artists but it lack a sense of " community".

Presently, Im searching for a help with my life size and life like of an elderly Im living with ( 94 years old). At her encouragment, I decided to not demolished my studybut instead, to cast it. Im working on that now.

I also donate watercolor protraits of fallen officers, mostly to Minneapolis Police Department. I have been told this is something that should be look into by a writer.

There is a few websites, however, very crude. Im not a tech person and this is the best I can come up with.

Sponsored by the Carver Women’s Business Group, this event will take place in the quaint historic village of Carver, nestled among the trees of the Minnesota River Valley, located just two miles west of Chaska.

We are excited to be able to feature art of many diverse mediums, with displays and live demonstrations, a Plein-air workshop, artist lectures, a Quick Draw Contest – open to the public, and People’s Choice Awards. Proceeds will benefit restoration of Carver’s historic Depot Park.

An excellent opportunity to spotlight your own art, for display or sale, you are encouraged to be a part of the Carver Arts Celebration, Sunday, June 26, 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. A 10’ x 10’ space can be reserved for $50 per booth. (Additional space is available.) Set up is scheduled between 8:00 and 9:30 a.m. Space is limited; please reserve your space by March 15.
