If Jim's building could be sold cooperatively to enough people, it would be truely affordable artists' housing. It could be modeled after Monterey Co-housing (an Edwardian style mansion) http://www.jimn.org/mococo/. See also http://www.cohousing.org/.
From http://www.xanga.com/jimoakes (Jim's building)- "This mansion does have 8 bathrooms and easily 10 or more bedrooms. But since it's used as a 7- unit building it has 6 full kitchens and a half kitchen in the commercial unit and 6- GARAGE SPACES"
Divided by 5 the price would be $94,833 each. By 6- $113,800. By 7- $81,286. In reality, the unit prices would differ some. I'd joyously sell my house and buy in. Any thoughts out there? Jim? Is it only a dream? Barb b.christiansen@juno.com
