The Mayo Clinic, here in Rochester, has a Art & Architecture tour. I haven't taken the time to do it yet, but certainly plan to over the course of the next month.

The modernistic elements of the tour would certainly appeal to the majority of the people on this website. (or so it appears) I am a new guy here.

I went to the Walker's Design Series lecture tonight. I found it interesting. Brad Cleopfil from Allied Works Architecture spoke about his work. His basic interest was in approaching architecture as a repetitive practice of using similar materials and forms. He saw it as the way to innovate the field, limiting his choices to fully explore an idea or ideas. This meant designing multiple buildings that were very similar.

I found it interesting that throughout the whole talk he hardly talked about people. It was all about space, materials, and ideas. At one point he mentioned the experience of being in one of the buildings being essential to the working process. The funny part of it was that I got the impression he considered people in the space throughout the process implicitly. It made me think about what I am not discussing in my practice that is essential to what I am doing.

The Pillsbury Grain Elevators still stand!

Intermedia Arts controlls some art programing at the Sears building (?)

"Flour Sack Flats" opened a sales office in the cleanly demolished *United Rentals* historic building next to the Soap. (Starting from the $200's)

Julie Snow has worked some conceptual magic for said Soap Factory.

The Minneapolis Plan for Arts and Culture looks right on point.

iCan't wait for the downtown Library to open this spring2006

I wish I did. Those were excellent tapes. They should be posted on Youtube for all to enjoy.

The only reference I could find was this:

Lost Twin Cities I, TPT. $19.95. Contact Eileen Johnson , TPT Customer Service, 651-222-1717

If anyone out there has it, post it on YouTube!
