budget question

Just in case you're checking this topic tomorrow - I wondered about the "artist's time" budget line that appears in a couple of the sample budgets.

I plan to make, exhibit and document new work. I need some money either to pay me to work on my project (since I will have to give up paying freelance work to do art) or to pay for day care, so I can have time to work. Can I include one of those in my budget, or is that out of the realm of what this grant can fund?

You may use the grant to cover all daycare expenses and any other expenses that will afford you the time to create work.

I turned mine in this morning, but I wanted to thank mnartists.org for sending me an e-mail letting me know about this grant, as well as other interesting oppurtunities in the past.

Good luck everyone!

I was probebly there as you were posting at 2:50... I finshed printing in the print shop on the main floor. Got it in on time! I keept seeing folks walk by with tan envelopes and knowing they were headed up. It was fun being there today. I didn't know the Jerome Foundation was in the same building. I flipped thru some artist liberation booklet while Pam was helping me find a floppy disk and bam! There she was in print, Karen Finley! I had only heard her voice untill then.. well no one knows what I'm talking about now except me so i'll go..

If no deadlines? LIVE LINES! I would get all the grants because I would follow thru to completion on my projects. Due to not giving up based on alocated time. Maybe.

Yeah, your right. Deadlines are good ways to focus and get "it" done.
I'm going to google "flexable deadline" still though.

I've got to go to the Chicano show now. Buh-Bye

Would we have no friends?

No, it would be all friends.
Thats the way I see proposals happening anyway. There is no deadline. You submit uppon invitation or will at the pleasure of the director. Deadlines are for something else.
