Encaustic painting is an ancient medium that uses a combination of
molten beeswax and pigment and is known for its luminous color and
tactile surfaces. Students will explore how encaustic painting can be
combined with collage to develop imagery. Possible collage materials
include photographs, drawings, found papers, organic material, and photo
transfers. All painting materials are provided in the class fee.
Students should bring a wide variety of collage materials to work with.
