Hugh Laurie’s 2011 debut album, the New Orleans blues driven celebration “Let Them Talk,” showcases such legends as Irma Thomas, Allen Toussaint, Sir Tom Jones, and Laurie’s lifelong hero Dr. John. The recording revives a much neglected body of work from Lead Belly, Robert Johnson, Ray Charles and Memphis Slim. The talented, passionate and lifelong blues pianist/vocalist/aficionado starred in such Hollywood films as “101 Dalmatians” and “The Man in the Iron Mask,” before landing his star-making role as Dr. House in 2004, which earned him several Golden Globe nominations and a nod for Best Performance by an Actor in a Television Series – Drama in 2006 and 2007.
