The Pickin’ Just Gets Better Every Year at Milaca’s Annual Recfest Bluegrass Festival

With over 16 hours of ripe bluegrass talent, the Milaca Recfest Bluegrass Festival is celebrating another year of down home pickin’ on July 27-29, 2012. Milaca is located on the Rum River in central Minnesota just off US Highway 169 and State Highway 23.

The festival presents bluegrass music in Milaca’s historical band shell from some of the regions most noted bands; along with educational workshops; advanced bluegrass jams; a Saturday afternoon art fair and children’s art tent; and weekend camping along the scenic Rum River.

“Even if you have no musical experience, our goal is to get everyone jamming,” said Milaca’s Mayor Pete Pederson, “We have added an educational workshop tent for ‘Absolute Beginner’ bluegrass jammers to learn basic chords on an instrument of choice – banjo, mandolin, guitar or fiddle.”
