We would like to extend an invitation to you to participate as a vendor at our second annual Ojiketa Art Blitz held in the beautiful setting of Ojiketa Regional Park on Saturday, October 13th and Sunday October 14th. This will be the second year of this Festival. This event will include live music from local bands, local food vendors, and visual arts, and wine from our local Winehaven. We would like this to be a unique event with the mission being local artist awareness, quality and exposure. The Ojiketa Art Blitz will be held in our 70 acre nature park, the site alone will make this festival unique. The address of the park is 27500 Kirby Avenue, Chisago City Minnesota. The venue has been a Campfire Girls Camp since 1926 and is currently being refurbished, this means some displays may be in cabins with an open floor plan, and some will be in the large lodge’s located onsite. It is a wonderful gathering spot. This will be a two day event; hours of operation will be from 11am until 5pm on Saturday and 11 till 3pm on Sunday. Included in this invite is a layout of the park, buildings, and site location. You may request a location; however we may place you in a different site according to your medium as to best present your talent (ex. not having two watercolor artists next to each other). We will ask for your patience in our setting up and plan on giving you plenty of time to do so. If we work together we are sure it will go smoothly and transition into a great show! We will provide artist with a designated parking location. Our volunteers will be visible in case you have any questions or need assistance. We are excited about this event and want to make it a fun experience for you whether it’s your first show or your 100th show! We will have snacks available in the kitchens.
Please complete the form and return as soon as possible this will give us time to systematically place your location according to your medium. Due to the elements, this will be held indoors with the idea of expanding to the outdoors if weather permits. Also, if you would like to do a demonstration of your medium, we would like to offer this and highlight this on our advertising, please contact Doris ahead of time to work out any details.
If you are interested in doing a live demonstration of your medium, PLEASE let Doris know ahead of time so we can establish your fee for travel and demonstration costs and needs for the site. We encourage any artists to work onsite, as well as interact with the public in a creative fashion! Ideas? Let us know we are happy to work with you!
The 2012 Ojiketa Art Blitz Committee will be organizing this event. We will be advertising on our website, cable, facebook, news papers, art organizations and more.
We will provide the space only; please bring your own table and display set up including your own electrical cords and if you are selling items you must have your own arrangements for accepting credit cards/electronic payment, be sure that you are prepared with starting bank. You must check your cords for fraying etc. Being this is indoors, a tent is not necessary.
You must remain open the entire day, this will be held rain or shine event no early teardowns will be allowed unless dangerous weather. Consider the other artists around you when setting up and tearing down.
If you have any questions, don’t hesitate to call Doris Zacho, Chisago City Parks Programmer at Chisago City Hall, 651-257-5464.
