Mission

OX-OP is at the forefront of a unique art movement. One that has quietly been shaking the foundation of the established art world with a potent brew of Low Brow, underground comix, rock posters, graffiti art, Kustom Kulture, and graphic design…with a roster of artists hailing from L.A. to New York, from the Midwest to the Far East. All broiling together to create an as-yet unnamed 21st century art movement that must be seen to be appreciated. And OX-OP is where it all comes into focus. Tom Hazelmyer, owner and curator of OX-OP gallery, has long-standing roots in what the gallery documents. He began shows with Low-Brow king-pin Coop, Shag and Frank Kozik upon opening Grumpy’s bar. The gallery now hosts his shows with the likes of Shep Fairy, Dalek, Mark Mothersbaugh and the coming Camille Rose Garcia. Located behind the downtown location of Grumpy’s, OX-OP will be the Twin Cities home for the breed of art that flies below mainstream gallery radar. Starting were the Grumpy’s art shows left off, and with Hazelmyer's knack for sussing out what's new and what's next, this year's artist lineup will fill the visceral void you didn't know you were missing.
