Contemporary Art...now that's funny.
Humor plays a major role in the work of many contemporary artists. Sarcastic, odd, playful, and sometimes disturbing, humor is pervasive throughout the contemporary art world. This session will look at several artists, both local and international, discussing how humor works to achieve their conceptual goals and the effectiveness of humor as a tool for communication.
Join Curator of Education Scott Stulen for a FREE monthly course on Contemporary artists, movements, theories, and trends in a relaxed and open atmosphere. This class will attempt to provide a historical context for the artwork of our time. Each session will present a different theme and group discussion is encouraged. Of course this collection doesn't begin to fully represent what's funny on mnartists.org.
