IFP MINNESOTA PRESENTS NEW PHOTOGRAPHY EXHIBITION
CHANNELS: 4 DIGITAL ARTISTS

OPENS SEPTEMBER 16TH

Channels: 4 Digital Artists is an exhibition about four Minnesota artists
exploring the frontiers of digital imaging. The artists, Ashley Wilkes, Shannon
Bangs, Aviel Goodman and Kevin Barlow, plug in and use digital cameras, memory
cards, and computers to create work that is not only the present and future of
photography, but also illustration and painting.

The artists revel in new technology and embrace the use of computer programs
such as Photoshop and PaintShopPro. Through these programs, they have taken the
messy chemicals and mixed media out of old time photo-manipulation, flattening
layers of collage and color channels with seamless but artistic keystrokes.
These computer art pioneers share a common interface and see digital tools as an
integral partner in bringing their inner worlds to fruition.
