This session will discuss issues related to craftsmanship and the role of the artist the physical creation of artwork. In addition we will discuss issues related to the multiple, originality, and conceptual art as it relates to contemporary art.
Contemporary art 101 is a free contemporary art history seminar held at the Rochester Art Center the first Thursday of each month. Led by Curator of Education Scott Stulen the seminar provides historical context for the artwork of our time. Each session covers important contemporary artists, movements, theories, and trends in a relaxed and open atmosphere. Lecture notes and handouts are provided for each session to encourage group participation and continuity.
