In the future the living sculptures can be used to produce food or to sustain more complex ecosystems. Eventually I hope to create habitable spaces in previously uninhabited zones. These sculptures can create green-space where none existed previously. I am thinking of new ways to metaphorise the fragility of our ecosystems. These ecosystems will ultimately succeed or fail. Either result will be telling and informative.

image: orb in orb (detail)
Images are from dreams/episodes. During REM sleep the body produces dopamine to paralyze the body to prevent one from acting out dreams during this most active dream period. At that time the intensity of dreams was such that this paralysis was overridden. Usually the dreams involved immediate mortal danger, and naturally one attempts to flee danger. On these occasions there would often be some injury. Normally the awareness and inherent knowledge of the space would limit any injury. However after moving from one warehouse space/loft to another was the most dangerous time. At that point one still has the previous space in mind and in a flash went over the edge of the loft causing a broken leg and other less severe injuries. Thus the title "Parasomnia" acrylic on canvas 120x72" to see a higher resolution image go here: http://i149.photobucket.com/albums/s80/vnc333/Early%20Works/Parasomniawhole-2.jpg
