I was at the Farmers Market with Ruth and I saw and heard this great guitarrist play with all his heart and might. I then was bummed out to see that a lot of people were ignoring him as if he was not even there. I wondered about his life and I came up to the stage and congratulated him on his great performance.

Scooter

I met a guy at a job and he told me how he got his nickname. He said his father always told him that if he ever went to jail that he should never call him. He then said that because while he was in jail his cat died from starvation and that he went to jail for stealing a scooter. My painting is a tribute to the cat that died. However, in my painting a couple go downtown for an evening out and they run into their cat riding a scooter and causing trouble.

Chill at the park

It sort of reminds me of this park I used to hangout at by myself most of the time just looking at the trees and the clouds and trees looked like precious gems. A contrast from the pollution and noise near by, away from all the buildings and things.

I was walking home one day and I saw this cool looking yellow window frame and brought it home not knowing what I would do with it with the glass on it and everything. I made my self portrait some time later on canvas board with acrylics and I placed the painting inside the old window frame and it just looked right. The female figure to me represents the muse which in this case it could be nature, then my arms painting and playing the guitar at the same time represent the influence art and music have on each other. The marriage between art and music is very real. to me I paint mostly to classic Jazz and it seems to free my mind and lets it loose and allows the painting to take command while I simply follow. Most of my work is improvised and most times I do not have a plan to follow. Music has allowed me to tap into a different universe on canvas.

The Rehearsal

I guess I made one arm ont he woman playing the piano seem mechanical on this painting because I really hate to rehearse on my guitar it would be like making the same painting over and over and that concept bores me. Sometimes when I play at a gig something or a mistake will happen but at least it is real, just like life improvised.
