strata 7 - metaphysics and logic these are mainly attachments from emails i would send to the electronetwork-list in hundreds of emails describing a systematic approach to knowledge via electromagnetism. i tried to separate these files into logic, which is centered on a new paradoxcial (n-value) approach, apart from those files and diagrams based in metaphysics, yet they are inherently related and there is no clear split between them, at least within this very small sample of visual files. they will not be presented in any linear order though i will try to make their presentation as coherent as possible, though this is likewise impossible outside the original serial formatting of the ideas as they evolved from first concepts to those more involved.

strata 5 - architecture more files from the transfered and excavated email archive. almost all from the electronetwork-list for discussion of electromagnetism and culture that was online for years, though some of these architecture-specific drawings were from other online projects or discussions. most are not serially related as content so one image to the next could be about totally different things, for instance World Trade Center redevelopment and 9/11, then another involving an essay De|Con-structing the Wherehouse: A Tale of Two Architectures, which was a typological study of the audiovisual franchise, putting into practice an archaeological-architectural methodology for studying an electromagnetic building and its artifacts as they are ecologically extended and connected to other buildings (essentially architectural programming, the circuitboard of civilization). Some other content includes a basic architectural idea involving 'environment' to include electromagnetism and how this relates to issues of space-time, place, boundaries, etc. All very silly that this must be censored and denied in the school system to maintain teacher authority and expertise, true foolishness. A map of cyberspace from "Seeing Cyberspace" essay, including connection of culture with economic, social, and political order, focused here on the nuclear sweetspot of mutually assured destruction (MAD) as justification for any and all dictatorial aggression to further empower the despotic state machinery functioning against humanity. IF architecture were empirically grounded in reality- possible albeit unlikey - it would be possible to evaluate building types like a nuclear power plant in terms of its core programmatic functioning, as an 'idea' not just an issue of style. in this way it is basically a building type that is designed to contain and harness a sun-like nuclear process, fusion else fission, whereby it best represents where culture and civilization are at in terms of energy production and issues such as waste and inefficiencies, built into society and infrastructure itself, sustaining everything else, including INTERNET (surprise). so, 250,000 years of radioactive waste so people can facebook and twitter, not dealing with the underlying issues sustaining malfunctioning machinery. and if the authorities including schools do not let you question or talk about these things- there is no other viable way of addressing or even questioning these issues, outside of heresy. though it is still important, to know 'how things work' and why they are the way they are, and the issues involved. such that massively toxic waste or environmental degradation or wars are necessary to maintain the existing structures of the state, culture, society, yet are functioning against the population by default of ignoring the problems and only accounting for the beneficial aspects, especially to those managing and controlling the works. this leads to a dark age where ignorance rules, and online activity is escapist, a fantasy realm disonnected from the realm of physical bodies and interactions; an ungrounded condition where nothing needs to be true, as long as it remains unaccounted for; very Enronesque, culture, society, acceptable 'reason' within the given limitations and norms. cracking the world egg of electromagnetism utterly breaks that collectively sustained illusion because it can falsify beliefs and provide more accurate modeling and hypotheses for events, versus simpy repeating what has already been said as if doing so makes it true. thus, electromagnetism is a way of reentering back into questions of society, culture, civilization, 'being', humanity, technology, via art and artifacts and buildings that primarily and fundamentally function in relation to this 'invisible' force, whether by its paradigmatic difference or continuing censorship by those who seek to retain control over the far-inadequate illusion as if somehow of higher knowledge, awareness, and understanding. that is a bluff. that is why censorship keeps such issues at a distance, to make a safe space for the lies.

strata 4 - electromagnetic fragments, artifacts to account for events in an electromagnetic context requires recontextualizing everything that exists in the more accurate ordering of existence. thus, archaeology is predisposed to this by its cataloguing and interpretation of material artifacts of a lost or distant past, as it relates to the present day awareness and understanding- and yet what if this present-day view is in error, ungrounded, wrong and even empirically invalid. perhaps then the default interpretations are in need of requestioning basic assumptions, offering new models and hypotheses for how things exist and in what structural, cultural frameworks. in this way, the lowly everyday devices, tools and technologies unaccounted for in cultural history of today, 'outsider existence' as it were, 'outsider reality', the electric plug or lightbulb as it relates to a non-electrical evaluation of civilization, its workings and development over millennia. using stone polymer clay and terra-cotta or rust colored clay, examples of this 'electromagnetic evidence' of missing culture was created as an example of what is lost in the present-day interpretations of events. everyone is talking 'digital' yet they allow no value to the plug and socket and global infrastructure, nuclear weapons and pollution as it relates to the same activities when materially grounded in the world of physical objects. likewise, what if an aged or ancient find consisted of a watch battery, hearing aid, electrochemical battery turned to stone, or audio adapter, as remnants of the present-day for some future archaeologist of this era. the little details that sustain the bigger illusion of shared consciousness, yet without these it could not exist the same, in peoples detachment from physical limitations. then of an exhibit at Carleton, part of a larger group exhibit, a backroom in the gallery turned into a hands-on showcase of these various artifacts, large and small. including some jewelry made to reflect the era within its aesthetics (or a previous simpler era, prior to overtake of public wi-fi and cellular antennas becoming the most commonplace icons of similar infrastructure, versus radio tower and streetlight). thus, like a puzzle, piecing together the fragments into a larger cultural assemblage, this electromagnetic realm undocumented and accounted for, deemed crazy even to pursue in its material evidence as a basis for shared reality, and yet undeniable, its truth in allowing this world to exist, persist, and be directed towards a particular agenda if not governed by human interests and values. in that case, the automated machinery take over, people become only natural resources to be exploited like everything else, yet will leave no future indication of existence besides these various beads and tools, prior to human extinction. who were they, why did they perish...

strata 3 - photographs a fascination of mine involves how the electrified landscape can tend to look like outer space, where under certain conditions and atmospheres a galaxy or constellation or nebula could appear via corollary yet abstract patterns, and the aesthetic question this could involve. i have only noticed it, not ever really explored it, though the excavaton revealed a few hints of this theme. for me it is a larger question of astronomy as a conceptualization, its basis for identifying cosmic order and what might that involve in a more metaphysical framework, whereby the 'sun' and 'moon', planets and stars are people, archetypes, and constellations and other formations may describe various processes or circuits, even, for relations and given dynamics. further, the idea that now is at the forefront of consideration[i]- data astronomy[/i], as it relates to language, the structure of language and its basis in logic, as this relates to establishing structural yet interrelated and co-dynamic patterning. such that reading and 'being aware' can be its own encounter with 'observation' of the heavens and celestial bodies, whether real or fictive, true or illusory. it is the same or similar to the difference between numbers as representational signs (images) and numbers as symbols (ideas), literally two worlds, realities apart. in any case, what if telescopes were turned on the earth instead, and its night landscape was reinterpreted with the streaming galactic light highways and massive cityscape star fields and alley way perspectives of 1-point perspectives seemingly vanishes into eternity. what of the everyday that is a mirror for what cannot be seen or otherwise encountered yet still may exist or find its way into existence, even if through the subconscious, reminding of cosmic lineage.

The audio for this installment of soundings consist of two separate filetypes. It is actually a merging of soundings and the noisemakers series which was too negative to continue, while the issue of noise abuse and harassment continues and effects everything in my life, and as a result, explorations with music and my attempts with music therapy practice, which is directly retaliated against with increased noise abuse that has been going on all night and morning for weeks now, it has been non-stop and forces me to wear ear-plugs and be in a constant state of stress. This situation has been going on for 13 months now. Though by recording the abuse the tactics changed and the assaults are cannot be effectively recorded unless having high-end professional gear and sensors, and the sounds that are generated are specifically targed to harass, not ordinary music being played and instead hostile signals meant to disrupt sleep and thinking via physiological deterioration and psychological imbalance, and it is effective, I can hardly function anymore. They really do not like the flowcharting. The new [u]criminal[/u] abuse tactic is to use very low bass frequencies and the principles of resonant vibration to send a barely audible signal at the shared apartment wall, over about 30-40 feet into my apartment, and cause it to amplify (increase in loudness) by bouncing between the walls, so that the signal cannot be recorded nearest where it is occurring. I can feel the bass in the floor, it makes the walls reverberate as if a flat-speaker surface and the futon frame picks it up likewise, and so this constant flood of bass noise fills my mind and body day and night with this inhumane assault on my nervous system. Certainly it is slow motion murder via noise, it just takes some time for the heart attack or disease to kick in after being triggered by a collapsed immune system- known medical effects equivalent to a small event ocurring over and over and having a large overall effect (a principle of torture). The symmetry for them, apparently, is hearing my music, which must be as annoying to them as their hostile signals are to me. Not because it is hostile towards them, and instead because I am doing something they do not want me to do. These sounds are generated via electronic equipment and the 'bass' is contained within my apartment, multitrack recorder, and is not emitting at audible levels beyond my apartment. And yet, if there are microphones in the wall and people surveilling, it is that they can hear my making sound that they do not want me to make which then triggers the retaliatory abuse- because pursuing music therapy is against their rules for me. By simply making these sound recordings I am functioning against their will for what I should be doing, and thus noise has been non-stop for several weeks one of the previous times i made music recordings because they view it as beyond their control and want to make it so miserable that i cannot function and must stop this activity. There is symmetry involved then in making sounds that they perceive as hostile noise and may likewise reverberate in their minds and bodies simply by their being in the world, that that is the offense to them, that the sound is not under their control and suppressed and censored by their dictates and illegal activities and hostile actions. And yet I am doing nothing wrong. The drum files precede the noise files. They are not the sound I can find though they are an example of the sound of music like language, though not particularly literate as of yet, in the formation of learning the alphabet, words, not yet sentences, though grammar, variants of syntactic structures. The reason this exploration is difficult is because it occurs in a truly oppressive condition where I cannot freely play without concern of continued and increased retaliation, so it is at a potentially severe cost to share sounds that in turn will lead to worse noise harassment than already exists, and if it is going all night in your bedroom and apartment and into the morning every single day, throughout the night, to be unable to fall asleep and then to be woken by it every single day, then it is like a masochistic endeavor, bringing on greater pain by trying to maintain some semblence of a life within a no-rules environment exploited to that edge that the abuse can continue & they will not be held accountable. The noise files are in two parts, two are afternoon noise recordings from a day ago, where a hostile and loud bass signal is transmitted- there is no good reason for doing this other than as targeted harassment. Bass noise is the problem and that is what is and has been exploited for 395+ days. The second part involves the issue of resonance, that very low bass frequencies are being sent from one and sometimes two separate apartments simultaneously into my apartment to use principles of resonance - whereby a certain wavelength of signal will cause it to bounce against the walls and amplify remotely, causing the noise signal to increase in volume, which has been going on for months though a few weeks ago it became non-stop, throughout the entire night and morning, making it impossible to sleep. The audio is captured for forensic analysis of the signals, which can only barely be discerned from background audio and the oscillation of a mixer indicates how this noise is occurring beyond the threshold for the equipment available. That said, professionals and military would be able to pick these same signals up from a satellite, drone, or by other terrestrial means to verify the wavelength of the signal transmitted in relation to apartment dimensions to prove custom-made noises for purposes of harassment. It is in the geometry, that is how it works. So if the signal can be extracted from the audio that would be one way to show that this is not someone who is just playing music and instead involves specific equipment and noise tracks meant for targeted harassment, with supremely ill intent. That said the drum files (123) are whatever type of sound can be accessed within a short segment of interaction that otherwise would be more involved under different conditions yet the existing situation forces a minimal approach, though hopefully it will be possible to freely pursue this therapeutic practice for managing in an insane situation and attaining self-balance amidst a thoroughly hostile environment. note: headphones recommended for all recordings.

The relation between words and sounds includes a question of musicality. The lyricality of speech, speaking, oration, writing and poetry. The cadences and ways of saying, as a self resides within the context of language, its presentation & reception, how this is processed, digested, metabolized or even rejected. The potential for beauty resides within the sounds of words, sentences, conveyences, and yet also the total profanation of these dynamics to turn the tools of insight into a realm of unending ignorance and despair instead, via its corruption and serving other principles via its exploitation, in turn it becomes shallow, hollow, a mechanism engineered to subjugate. Thus the potential for intelligibility or oppression, and it is also the difference between those who love truth and those who serve hate, as the garden is filled with those who most vile. In this way, better understanding the sounds, trusting the senses refined over a lifetime, can function like a compass. What those dynamics that differentiate insight from ignorance is also within the sound itself, what is communicated. Perhaps everything is a question of aesthetics and how such relations are or are not established by different rules and purposes. note: headphones recommended for all recordings. The approach to making soundings has changed with the addition of a multitrack recorder. For this reason the next several hardware mixes will be single files versus grouped as the previous, as the exploration is wide-ranging enough to have them separated, yet they are dealing with similar structural concepts of language and its relation to music, and where song and meaning may begin to appear at a given threshold within more elemental vocalizations, inflections, partial or variant soundings that may or may not be attached to a legible word, yet provides lyricality of pattern or sound, as a tone that also can infer emotion or meaning, potentially. It is a question that is attempted to be considered, the layers of ambiguity that go into constructing some 1:1 relation between sender/receiver and how the signal is modeled, in what kind of dimensions. In this way, perhaps also a question of abstract expressionism though perhaps with other intentions than as only an escape, and instead an entering into greater surrounding substance, such as linguistics within language and communications science within conveyances, if only as stray artifacts of some automated mechanism devouring data in similar terms. note: headphones recommended for all recordings.
