Created during an MCBA/Jerome Fellowship 2008-09, and on display November 20, 2009 – February 21, 2010 at the Minnesota Center for Book Arts, Minneapolis.

[i]Wiçoni[/i] Zentli, Dakotah for “Life” and Nahuatl for “Corn,” honors the primordial energy that inspired the birth of zentli in Anahuak – North America – thousands of years ago.

The installation of the two vertically hanging sheets of handmade paper, slightly under 11 x 3 feet, and the 15-foot long unfolding cornfield are created from four types of zentli (corn) grown in Minnesota. The installation ties the life-giving energy of zentli to the birth and survival of human beings on Ixachilanka, the “American” Continent, and beyond.

A six foot mosaic sculpture created at Westside Saint Paul Youthfarm with youth, Summer 2005. The sculpture, Metamorphosis, represents the life cycle of the monarch butterfly wrapped around a daisy. Mosaic stepping stones that represent insects found in the flower garden surround the sculpture. Location: 85 E. Page St., Saint Paul.

Smoke-Free Homes Bench Project
