I was having a good time experimenting with different plates and paints. The theme came to me from a dream I had about turtles and their sacred nature.
I let the lower right (facing) reflect losing myself (one's self) in the moment like being blown by a wind....that's all; I hope you enjoy it.
After pulling several prints of different colors I set them aside to dry. A few weeks later I saw this one and started to draw on it with acrylic paint and a small brush. This continued over several weeks where I would pick it up and draw more. As the image progressed I noticed how different faces and sets of eyes emerged....if only in my own mind.
I consider them my relatives and they certainly were my teachers. I remembered a very snowy day early in the seasonwhen there was still some color (besides white) all around and was inspired to make this. I started with a monotype image which is one of my favorite ways of getting in touch with my artist vision. I hope you enjoy it as much as I enjoyed making it.
