Neil Simon's The Good Doctor

After weeks of planning and preparation, the company has aligned all the elements of production to bring live theatre to Camden. Neil Simon's The Good Doctor is a vaudevillian tribute to the flaws of human nature. A series of quirky scenes the show is ripe with dark humor and philosophical whimsy. With "the Writer" as the guide, audiences are introduced to an interlocking stock of characters as real as they are outrageous. From a sneezing minion who only wants to please his superiors to a scheming Don Juan who lets others do his work, what the people who inhabit Simon's scenes share in common are their quick wits and a tendency to be their own worst enemy. The Good Doctor turns the mirror on the audience and invites them to think about the social interactions that make people trip over their own feet. The production will feature talented actors and theatre technicians from Camden as well as other North neighborhoods. "This really is a community effort," says Artistic Director, Jeff Redman. "We're utilizing Creekview Community Center in the north, Victory Lutheran Church in Victory, we are going to be seeking sponsors from all businesses in Camden, and with numerous people in Camden already wanting to audition we are achieving our goal. With Our Neighborhood Works (ONW) as our financial agent, we are on our way to becoming an established non-profit theatre in Camden."Performances will be held at the Creekview Community Center the first 2 weekends in June; June 2, 3, 9 &10th. All performances will begin at 7:00, which will allow patrons to visit one of Camden's fine restaurants for an after show dessert or drink.Ticket prices will be $7.00, with $5.00 Senior and student rates.Anyone interested in auditioning is asked to visit the CCT website to arrange an audition time:www.camdentheatrempls.com or call 612-423-1077 to leave a message about auditioning.Anyone interested in working behind the scenes, backstage or as an usher is asked to visit the website and click on "Get Involved".
An Evening of Nightmares

Imagine falling asleep, only to discover that you've morphed into Greek philosopher Socrates, who has just been condemned to death. Would you, as Socrates did, die rather renounce your principles? This is the nightmarish premise upon which Woody Allen's one-act comedy, "My Apology" is based. Similarly, Christopher Durang's "The Actor's Nightmare" leads us through the worst dream an actor could realize. No, it's not about forgetting an exam or showing up at work in just a pair of underwear. This actor's nightmare revolves around the bewildering (though amusing) experience of not knowing his lines, much less what play he's in! Finally, the evening is a dream come true for audience members who've always wanted a minor role in a nightmare. Actors will be taking suggestions from the audience in a few improvisational exercises that will both delight and torment the discerning eye. Performed May 24th, 2005
An Evening's Diversion

An Evening's Diversion. An Evening's Diversion is a delightful performance that has something for everyone. With a few monologues, a few scenes, some improvisation and only 30 minutes of technical rehearsal time, there is bound to be some hilarity. Well known playwrights make an appearance right alongside some audience suggested improvisation, while theatre neophytes test the waters along seasoned pros. An Evening's Diversion, represents the true meaning of community. Performed March 24, 2005
A Snowbound Christmas Carol

It's the night before the night before Christmas and it just happens to be opening night of the very first performance of the Camden Civic Theatre AND it just happens to be the start of the biggest snowstorm in recent history. This madcap comedy follows the only four cast members to make it to the theatre in time for the curtain to go up. Watch as they figure out how to put on "A Christmas Carol" with four actors, few costumes, and no stagehands, all with mere minutes before the full force of the blizzard hits. Featuring: Wayne Anderson, Doreen Kueseman, Kindi Harala, and Jeff Redman. Performed December 2004 March 24, 2005 Script: Jeff Redman
