Dirty Little Secrets : Confessional Art Show

Altered Esthetics will be hosting a confessional group show with more than 30 local and national artists bringing their deepest secrets to light. This October exhibit will feature artists confessing their secrets through videos, paintings, sculptures, photography, prints, and collage. Please join us for the opening reception on Friday, October 5, 2007 from 7:00 pm - 9:00pm. Altered Esthetics will also have a confessional installation, so you too may contribute your secrets to the show. The Art of Service ran from February 1 -22, 2007 The quirky kid at your favorite coffee shop, the cute server that your friends always hit on, the crabby bartender at your nearby dive, the nurse at the clinic with the cold hands... What are these people really like, and what do they do when they aren't at work? A remarkable number of them are artists, making their living not with art but with their service. How do their jobs affect them as artists? What do they think of their jobs, their employers, and what do they think of YOU? In Altered Esthetics' February exhibit The Art of Service, 20 artists examined their work, themselves, and those they serve. An eclectic display of photography, poetry and painting, The Art of Service provides a penetrating look into the service industry.

Art Reincarnated

The Art Reincarnated show ran from April 5-26, 2007 and showed the work of 66 artists. The modern world is full of waste and clutter. Recycled-works artists have a knack for taking something old and unwanted and breathing a beautiful new life into it, creating masterpieces that are simultaneously fresh and seasoned. A stylishly refurbished armoire, a computer monitor turned into a mod fish tank, a canvas repainted with a new vibrant image... please join us for our April exhibit "Art Reincarnated" as we celebrate this innovative, aesthetically intriguing and environmentally friendly genre of the arts.

Altered Esthetics would like you think outside the visual box and join us as we hold a truly unique and innovative exhibition, "Art for Other Senses." The "Art for Other Senses" exhibition will focus on interactive artwork developed not around sight, but around smell, touch, taste, and sound. Special features of this exhibit include art you are encouraged to touch and art you can smell, "Art of Coffee" and "Art of Wine" cuppings and tastings and a variety of music and sound studies! Altered Esthetics will be hosting a 3 year anniversary and fundraiser event throughout the month of May which will include 30 works of art on silent auction and 10 raffles.

Altered Esthetics is moving to a new location and celebrating the occasion with the opening of our Video Game Art group-show. Level_13: Another Round of Art and Music from the Video Game Generation will open on November 17, 2006 with more than 30 artists in participation. The exhibition will feature Classic Video Game inspired artwork, music, sculpture and video. Immerse yourself in a vibrant display of sights and sounds; from Steve Ogdahl's wall of lights to the music of the 4-bit Agitators, from the space-invaded sculpture of Anthony Kephart and Mark Reiger to the abstracted video game paintings of Alex Paik. The Video Game Art show will be an interactive and festive flashback, a can't-miss for anybody of the video game generation. The Video Game Art exhibition runs from November 17 - December 21, 2006. Please join us for a grand re-opening party and artists' reception on Friday the 17th at 6:00pm.
