Statement

Everyone hopes to find a partner to share the very private, safe environment that two loving people construct around each other. But it fails to become a fortress against the harsh outer world when the inner world is shattered by domestic abuse. This video about Petite's life gives a glimpse into her inner world. Petite's story is used as a symbol of feminine compassion, wisdom and strength. Petite's contorted struggle with abuse, is used as a metaphor for the human conflict between external reality and personal, internal beliefs. The river that twists and flows into darkness finally turns back into the light and renewed promise. That in love, like life, what is lost can be found.
