Statement

Even the coolest of brands finds it needs a facelift every now and then. When Aveda heard from kids themselves that their salon-track cosmetology school enrollment was down because its recruiting materials were outdated and dull, a complete makeover was ordered. The look changed from that of emulating graceful old curves and details of the historic atelier the Institute called its home to something more parallel to the Aveda product line brand look. New York style and simplicity was married with crisp, bright natural colors and top of the line photography. Then, the catalog and recruiting materials were infused with the personality found in your favorite sections of entertainment and beauty magazines. Why not find fun cosmetology trivia and day-in-the-life quotes in the middle of the course schedules? And how about lime green printing on thin newsprint to contrast the alternate pages of high-end Aveda beauty photos? All of a sudden, that old atelier houses a school with a hip look and personality that is now poised to receive the benefit of the brand connection with Aveda.
