Statement

An Eminently Practical and Useful Play is a physical theatre piece based entirely on office work- particularly assistant, clerical, temp and other lower-level business positions. Recognizable routines and events from the 9 to 5 are transposed in an absurd, comic-book-like style. Combining real-life anecdotes and quotations from too-good-to-be-true manuals on office work, An Eminently Practical and Useful Play comments on both the inane and inadequate in our American working culture.
