Rebecca Yaker's sock monkey dress was originally created for the Walker Un-Prom, a fashion show at the Minneapolis' Walker Art Center in conjunction with the WTAC (Walker Teen Arts Council). The entire dress was knit on a knitting machine and there are 30 faces encircling the entire skirt, each with it's own personal name tag. The gown is fully lined in red satin. The dress gained notoriety at the Minnesota State Fair early this fall (2006), and has since been featured on various news affiliates nationwide including the MSNBC Countdown show with Keith Olbermann. It will be featured in the January issue of Craftzine.
