"The Great Square Has No Corners" 41"x29.5" (Prismacolor colored pencil on BFK Rives paper) This new piece is a Lo Shu Square based on Black Hat directional feng shui. The directions are all represented by various symbolism and use of color feng shui for the proper directions. North, South, East and West are presented with the celestial creatures appropriate for the direction, respectively Black Tortoise, Red Phoenix, White Tiger and Green Dragon. In the center is the color yellow and a Kuan Yin, mother goddess of compassion. The decorative stylized lotus are derived from a 4th-5th century Japanese vase.
