"It hurts me so much, I feel like I've just fallen in love or something." Jason, audience member
"...the perfect blend of irony, whimsy, and graceful cleverness." Paula, audience member
Dressed in boyscout uniforms of different ranks, two performers navigate the power dynamics of an imbalanced, inappropriate and ultimately doomed relationship. Drawing from innuendo, boyscout movement, bastardized tango and wry humor, SCOUT reveals the intricacies of an intimate connection that withers outside of certain circumstances. Songs by The Shaggs, Elvis Presley and The Rat Pack enhance the wistful imagery of love gone awry.
Originally a 7-minute duet, SCOUT can be expanded to a 15-20 minute workthat translates well to any size venue as well as non-traditional settings such as a theater lobby or out-of-doors.
Premiered March 23, 2005 at 9x22 Dance Lab, Bryant-Lake Bowl Theater, Minneapolis, MN

quotes from the enthusiastic audience:
“the perfect blend of irony, whimsy, and graceful cleverness”
“I laughed really hard, but also nearly wept, too”
“it hurts me so much, i feel like i've just fallen in love or something”
"smart"
“Really clever and not overstated. Megan and Greg both were a treat to watch... a bright moment”
“Those gorgeous movements, the rowing, the tango, the salsa, the jittery bottoms, the invitations x2, the dead drop, the gorgeous I don’t know what to call it at the end of the first piece with Megan and Greg on opposite sides of the stage - the Who move, I guess. All so seamlessly there in that great story we all know. LOVE it.”
