Statement

This drawing is a study for a larger work I someday hope to make about the fairy tale "The Three Little Men in the Woods." In the story, a curse is put on the "evil stepsister" while she is out looking for strawberries in the winter. She is made to get uglier every day, and with every word she speaks, a toad leaps from her mouth.

This resulting still life has piqued my interest in still-lives with small reptiles or other animals in them. How can I represent other stories with objects and the little creatures we ignore every day?
