This is a kinetic environmental piece. The rock hangs on a spring. A solenoid is attached to the rock. The long feeler is attached to a switch. The solenoid/switch circuit is a simple feedback mechanism which, by itself, would produce a steady, oscillating action. As it is applied to the rock, however, many variables are introduced to the system making the resultant motion chaotic.
