A collaborative behavioral documentary by Rosalie Sundin and Mickie Turk, "Wayward Girls" is a probing look into the lives of marginalized girls across generations, whose stories epitomize the connection between child abuse and female delinquency. The long-term cost of their daily struggles to survive in a world that perpetuates disconnection, abuse and lack of
meaningful support, demand our attention.
"Wayward Girls" examines the lack of gender-specific programming for women and girls, and the continuing inequity of dollars spent by the justice system, when women and girls are concerned.
"This documentary is a potent call for action
to the criminal and juvenile justice systems and the public at large."
Paula Schaefer, Director
Planning for Female Offenders Unit
Minnesota Department of Corrections
"Wayward Girls is a simply told but profoundly compelling insight into the factors that make girls leave their homes, only to plunge into futher victimization that lasts a lifetime and often recycles through future generations. We forget too often that these young runaways and
throwaways and girls are our own children, and we will one day reap what we abuse, neglect and ignore. Wayward Girls is a visual reminder to embrace, care and take action."

"Your video is certainly well done. You are convincing in the way the young women are portrayed and in how you illustrate the forces that can help turn their lives around, particularly their own inner strength, once it's affirmed. I was deeply moved by the video..."
