Pastel Painting on Paper 27"x19 1/2"
This painting sets a somber mood. The people are marching through Shakopee, MN as part of the Dakota Commemorative March. The day was bitter cold, the sky was a non-descript grey. We stopped each mile along the way to say a prayer and even sat on the grass and had lunch that some very nice volunteers prepared for us. Nobody complained. The marchers were there to remember and honor those that walked before us, our ancestors.
