This idea came from a photograph of a weathered old boat near the town of Negril, Jamaica. My husband and I vacationed there and watched a man pull the boat up, took his mask and flippers off and pointed to fish in the bottom of the boat. He asked if we would like fresh catch, the bar next door would cook them up for us. We excitedly agreed. We waited 3 1/2 hours for that meal, met some very interesting characters, played a couple games of pool and almost gave up, even with the updates every 20 minutes that it wont be long now. I enjoyed every bite of my meal when it came. Unfortunately, my husbands stomach turned when our newfound friend "joined us" for the meal and proceded to put the entire head in his mouth, jostle it around in there for 10 minutes, and when he was done, spat out the cleanest bone I have ever seen. Fish eyes a delicacy? Not for us!
