"Fashion News" is a space where the political, the social and the intensely personal merge to form the insidious fiction of culture. These husks of women are actors in a theater in which identity is at once forged and destroyed. Newspaper is image, event, hype, and the latest trend. In each act we clothe ourselves in the zeitgeist, obscuring our authentic self. We struggle to come out of hiding. We change our perspective. We shift our shape. In all of our attempts to define ourselves where do we really stand? Like performance, culture and identity, newspaper is ephemeral: life passes before our eyes, the stories come and go and we must recycle the old to make way for the new… or be buried in all the layers.
