Statement

What is our relationship to the institutions around us? How do they influence our day-to-day decisions? SurfaceMarks invited participants to consider these questions and others while wearing temporary tattoos depicting the Church, the State, and the Corporation.
Participants could request a free package of tattoos from the project website. After wearing them, they could return to the site to express their thoughts, upload photos, invite others to take part, or raise questions of their own.
Over 3000 sets of tattoos were distributed to 13 countries. The website received 1000's of visits and over 100 posts.
