Judith was a fabulous model. I fell in love with her skin the first time I saw her. She agreed to pose for me in my studio for the red-head project. Her finished portrait was a favorie during the opening reception and is one of mine, too.

A red beard! Just what the project needed. The model, an outdoorsman, brought not one, but two hats to the sitting. The fishing hat did it for me, pose outdoors with the sun bringing out all the lights in his beard.

Jean posed for a class I took from the distinguished portrait artist, Daniel Greene. Her coloring made her a good choice to include in the project. Besides, her dress is red!

For a long dtime the idea of painting a series of red-heads precolated in me. Finally the opportunity arose and the series was painted and exhibited.

Alison was one of the first I created for the project.

A low sun coming in a window really caught the light in Lisa's hair and eye.
