"I thought I would create a sarcastic recording this time following a long hard winter of hauling water, wood and dealing with all the snow...that didn't happen. No matter how much I tried, 'Simple Life' became a song to the natural setting and wonderful life that I have!"
Includes: Cat Steven's 'Peace Train'...and my reflections of our hike to the bottom of the Grand Canyon, 'Calling'. Dan Chouinard performs an accordian solo and the recording includes a Quicktime Video of the regional Emmy winning "Soaring on Mended Wings" about the Raptor Center at the UofMN, and I had the opportunity to release a raptor...
"Simple Life", 2005, (Minor 7th) This gorgeous album of acoustic guitar, vocals and flutes is beautiful. Songs vary from the gentle finger-picking in the original title cut, like a laid back Alex de Grassi, to the multi-tracked strummed acoustic guitars on Cat Steven's "Peace Train." His rich warm voice sounds a bit like Stevens too. "Calling" is a highlight. He wrote it while at the bottom of the Grand Canyon, capturing the peacefulness of that place. It ends with repeating vocal harmonies intertwined with a low flute, like a chant. The production is warm and clean; it was all done in his solar-powered studio with custom guitars (tenor, baritone and standard acoustic) built by David Seaton. This disc will stay in my CD player a long time. Yours too. © Jamie Anderson

"His latest and tenth recording, Simple Life, envelopes the listener into the artist's love for nature, disdain for urban chaos and quest for peace. It takes you into his world and invites you to stay for as long as you like. His new songs are a strong statement delivered without angst, punctuated by a flawless version of Cat Stevens' "Peace Train."
